Union of Feminist Organizations “(Re)connection”
About the Association
The Union of Feminist Organizations “(Re)connection” was founded in November 2016 with the aim of researching, systematizing, preserving, and digitizing feminist cultural heritage, as well as promoting, encouraging, and presenting contemporary women’s art, theory, and activism.
SFO “(Re)connection” develops its activities through two main project lines:
— the Digital Platform ŽeNSki muzej (Women’s Museum), and
— the Multimedia Platform of Contemporary Women’s Culture, Activism, and Theory — K.A.T.
Within these frameworks, a wide range of production formats is represented and nurtured, including conferences and panel discussions, exhibitions, concerts, and publishing activities. To date, the organization has presented more than 80 Novi Sad–based female authors (writers, visual artists, musicians, theorists...) while simultaneously building connections with the regional and international scene. The virtual Women’s Museum — www.zenskimuzejns.org is part of the International Association of Women’s Museums (IAWM).

This Digital Platform, as the first women’s museum in Serbia, is dedicated to researching, digitizing, systematizing, and publicly presenting women’s and feminist heritage (art, theory, endowments, activism, everyday life), as well as contemporary women’s creative work. All materials are publicly accessible and searchable, and with the use of speech technologies, also audio-accessible. The Women’s Museum is curated and managed by Vera Kopicl, Gordana Stojaković, Mirjana Isakov, and Silvia Dražić.
Since its founding, “(Re)connection” has organized numerous events, including the conferences Art in Education – Interactions and Women’s Cultural Heritage – Methods of Preservation and Presentation; several exhibitions dedicated to women’s visual creativity: ART or PACT (curators Dejan Vasić and Andrea Palašti), We Cut the Cables (curator Isidora Todorović), The Scarf as a Cultural Signifier (an international coproduction); a concert of contemporary art music performed by pianists Nataša Penezić and Branka Parlić; and has published several books — the monograph Milica Miletić Tomić, Lessons and Polemics; the anthology From Confession to Travel Writing: Novi Sad Women’s Prose (ed. Vladislava Gordić Petković); essays by Nina Živančević Artificial Intelligence and Natural Stupidity; the Anthology of Novi Sad Women’s Poetry — Invisible Zebra (ed. Siniša Tucić); the biographical novel Can I Live on Your Face by Katalin Ladik; the Anthology of Regional Women’s Literature — REGIONA (ed. Vladislava Gordić Petković); and the historical publication by Gordana Stojaković Mileva Simić (1859–1946): The Story of a Novi Sad Century. The organization has also released several music CDs curated by Branka Parlić: Novi Sad Women Composers No. 1 and No. 2, Novi Sad: A Few Sketches, Some Images and One Interpretation, Res Miranda, and One Day — Another Day.
The project coordinators and editors of SFO “(Re)connection” are Vera Kopicl and Silvia Dražić.
